The negotiations team is pleased to announce that we have come to tentative agreement with the district on calendars for the years 2012 – 2013, 2013 – 2014, and 2014 – 2015.
Based on our recent survey, the 2012-13 school year will look very similar to the 2011-12 year’s calendar. Our members enjoyed the week off at Thanksgiving, so that will remain as a week-long break. The 2013 – 2014 school year posed a problem with the state testing window because Easter falls in the middle of April. For 2013 – 2014, we will have a Spring Break from March 31 – April 4 (one week). We will still celebrate the Easter Holiday from April 18 – April 21 (four day weekend). We hope that this accommodates members who travel during this holiday. Per the negotiation’s survey, this change will only effect the 2013-2014 calendar.
Please note that the last day of school for the 2012 – 2013 school year is Thursday, June 6. Due to the four day Easter weekend in 2013 – 2014, school will end on Friday, June 6, 2014 during the second year. The last day of school will return to a Thursday in the calendar for the final year.
